Maranon cacao resupply, expected April 2024, has been delayed. With no ability to craft new bars, stock here is ultra-limited. We need be able to afford new cacao when it does arrive, and are compelled to increase prices of Maranon bars or stop making chocolate. Our first increase since before Covid. The protected, unique, oft-copied and never-bested Somerset Pomona is a blend of apple juice and cider brandy, which is then aged in cask. The result is a complex, nutty, toffee-laden delight. Our decadent 60% salted caramel Maranon dark milk proves an excellent canvas to showcase the profile of authentic Somerset Pomona.
The farm we source from in Somerset sits among 180 acres of cider apple orchards at the base of Burrow Hill. The farm has been pressing cider for over 200 years. In 1989 the family were granted the UK’s first ever full cider-distilling license. They have been distilling award winning cider into Somerset Cider Brandy ever since.
